Validation checklists - Section 73 removal or variation of condition(s)

To be used following the grant of planning permission to remove or vary panning condition(s) imposed on the permission.

Please note this process is different to the process for approval of details for a condition applied to a planning permission. Please see checklist for ‘approval of details reserved by condition’.

Application form	Mandatory on all applications	Please ensure to include the original planning permission reference and what condition(s) are being varied or removed.
Application fee*	Mandatory on all applications unless a valid exemption is applied.	You must submit a supporting document/cover letter explaining reason for exemption and any relevant accompanying evidence. Please note the Planning Portal admin fee still applies.

Location plan	Mandatory if the original site area on the approved application is not the same.	Please ensure to confirm in writing if the site area used has not changed.
Approved plans and elevations (marked up)	Mandatory on removal or variation of conditions that involve changes to the approved drawings to identify all the proposed changes, the plans should either be circled or clearly annotated to show where the changes are. For change in materials the proposed change needs to be annotated/clearly identified on the drawing.
Revised plans and elevations (to an accurate scale)	Mandatory on removal or variation of conditions that involve changes to the approved drawings to provide a revised copy of the approved drawing but with the change being applied for. For change in materials the proposed change needs to be annotated/clearly identified on the drawing.
