Grass cutting
We have a schedule of grass cutting across the borough which usually begins in spring until the autumn.
We aim to keep our grassed areas looking neat and tidy and our cutting schedule is based upon maintaining a suitable cut length not set cutting frequencies. Poor or prolonged wet weather can delay the schedule.
Where we cut roadside verges any cuttings on the pavements or gutter are blown back onto the verge within 48 hours.
Grass in some parks and countryside areas are deliberately left to grow for biodiversity purposes and are only cut later in the year.
